Background: The purpose of this study was to report the results of metaphyseal and diaphyseal ulnar shortening osteotomies (USO) for the treatment of ulnar abutment syndrome (UAS). Methods: From 2011 to 2016, we performed metaphyseal USO in 8 patients (8 wrists) and diaphyseal USO in 6 patients (7 wrists).

Ulnar abutment syndrome, also known as ulnar impaction syndrome, occurs when the ulna and the radius are not the same length, usually due to an elongated ulna bone. This abnormal length discrepancy, which can be quite small, is referred to as ulnar plus variance.

The wrist end of the ulna can be too long and “abut” or rub against the other small carpal wrist PMID: 1880164. Abstract. The ulnar impaction syndrome can be defined as the impaction of the ulnar head against the triangular fibrocartilage complex and ulnar carpus resulting in progressive degeneration of those structures. 2018-04-03 G56.21 is a billable diagnosis code used to specify a medical diagnosis of lesion of ulnar nerve, right upper limb. The code G56.21 is valid during the fiscal year 2021 from October 01, 2020 through September 30, 2021 for the submission of HIPAA-covered transactions. 2015-03-05 Ulnar Impaction Syndrome.

Ulnar nerve release surgery is a procedure for cubital tunnel syndrome – also known as ulnar nerve entrapment. Cutibal tunnel syndrome is a condition in which nearby tissue puts pressure on the nerve inside the cubital tunnel, a narrow space through which the ulnar nerve passes around the elbow.

Ulnocarpal abutment syndrome is a painful wrist condition in which bones rub together abnormally in the wrist leading to arthritis. The ulna is the long forearm bone that runs from the tip of the elbow and ends at the small finger side of the wrist.

40% of the load goes to the ulna; 60% to the radius; in a normal neutral wrist approximately . 20% of the load goes to the ulna; 80% to the radius Ulnar impaction syndrome is also known as ulnar abutment syndrome, and can be a common complication after distal radial fracture. The term means the distal ulna is no longer in line with the distal radius, resulting in the ulna being longer. The ulnar weight bearing load increases and causes chronic pain on that side of the wrist The ulnar impaction syndrome can be defined as the impaction of the ulnar head against the triangular fibrocartilage complex and ulnar carpus resulting in progressive degeneration of those structures. The differential diagnosis in patients who present with ulnar wrist pain and limitation of motion c … The ICD-10-CM code G56.21 might also be used to specify conditions or terms like entrapment of peripheral nerve of right upper limb, entrapment of right ulnar nerve, entrapment of ulnar nerve at right wrist, lesion of right ulnar nerve, neuritis of right ulnar nerve, tardy right ulnar nerve palsy, etc.
